I am a student in Virginia Commonwealth University in USA right now majoring in Business Management and Administration. I graduated from Beijing Fan Yi Institute in 2011 with rich experience and a great sense of fulfillment. After graduation, I went to Wisconsin, USA under a program called Work and travel in USA. Thanks to this program, I met a person who has totally changed my life. He is an oil dealer who would have business with Sinopec in recent years. And he needed a translator at that time. He met me in a restaurant in which I worked last summer. He talked to me for a short while, which was kind of an interview. He was astonished and thrilled by my fluent English and my uplifting personality. I became his translator afterwards and that why I got this chance to come to America to have further education.

When people ask me which university I studied before in China, I would never hesitate to say Beijing Fan Yi Institute. I love this school and I appreciate what I have learnt from it. I got the most wonderful, unforgettable and beneficial experience in this school throughout my life and I met the best teachers and best friends who I would never forget. I think a school that deserves being called a school should not only gives you the knowledge you need to have but most importantly, it should give you the hope and right beliefs. And these are what I benefited: I learnt fluent English; I learnt how to get along with people; I learnt I could also make a difference; I learnt I should never make complaints; I learnt much more than you could ever imagine. Without all of these, I could never have been blessed with this chance to study abroad. I am not telling you a successful story. Instead, I am giving you an example that you can make as well. I am a person with a bundle of luck but I am also a person with great persistence. Good luck, you all!

 

 

 

我叫李莉丽，现在就读于美国弗吉尼亚联邦大学业务管理和行政管理专业。我毕业于北京翻译研修学院，在学习期间，我收获了丰富的经验，非常充实。毕业之后，通过“work&travel赴美带薪实习”这个项目前往美国威斯康星州实习。感谢这个项目让我遇到了改变我的生活的那个人。他是一个石油商人，他最近正准备和中国石油合作拓展中国市场。那时他正需要一个翻译。去年夏天，他在我工作的那个饭店遇见了我。他和我短暂交谈并且把这当做了面试。我流利的英语和积极乐观的性格令他感到惊讶。自那之后，我成为他的翻译，也因此获得了在美国深造的机会。

每当有人问起我，在中国我读的是哪所大学，我都会毫不犹豫的说：北京翻译研修学院。我热爱我的母校，也很感激这所学校让我学到的一切。在大学期间，我度过了我人生中最精彩、最难忘的时光，我遇到了最好的老师和最好的朋友让我此生难忘。我认为，一所大学之所以能称之为大学，不仅仅是因为大学提供给你必须的知识，更重要的是，给予人们希望和正确的信仰。而这，正是我所收获的。我学到了流利的英语，如何与人相处;我知道世界也会因为我二变得不同，我学到永不抱怨，我所学到的甚至超乎想象。没有这些，我根本不可能如此幸运，获得出国留学的机会。我并不是在说教，再给你讲一个成功的故事;相反，我既然能做到，那么你也一样能做到。我很幸运，同样，我也坚持我的梦想。祝大家好运。
